Proud to be an American!!!

What an amazing song - especially when sung by our 4th graders!  If you want to hear it, you may need to first scroll all the way to the bottom and "pause" the playlist that automatically plays.

2012 State Fair

The students did such a FANTASTIC job at our 4th grade State Fair on Friday, May 4th!  I had so much fun looking at their posters and floats, reading their reports, and tasting the AWESOME food!  They put so much work and effort into these projects, and they should be SO PROUD!  I hope this will be something they look back at and remember fondly when they think about their 4th grade year!!!  A big thanks to all the parents who helped SO MUCH!!!

The BFG - Dream Jars (Golden Phizzwizards)

We are currently reading The BFG by Roald Dahl. It is an incredible and fun book! In the story, the BFG (Big Friendly Giant) is a dream-catching giant who goes to Dream Country to catch dreams. He catches them by using a butterfly net (as well as his enormous ears to actually HEAR the dreams). The two types of dreams that he catches are trogglehumpers (nightmares - which he catches so they can never get out) and golden phizzwizards (GOOD DREAMS!) He then travels all over the world "delivering" these golden phizzwizards to children. He does this by blowing them through windows with a special trumpet-like instrument while children are sound asleep at night. 4C students were lucky enough to get to travel to Dream Country (aka - the playground) and catch their own golden phizzwizards! Check them out! I would love for any of these dreams to be blown through my window while I was sleeping!!!

Dream Jars - Golden Phizzwizards

I am the wealthiest person in the world! I will use most of my money to buy stuff for poor people and people who need money to pay off loans. I will have $900,000,000,000,000,000,000! There will be NO MORE POOR PEOPLE!

I will go horseback riding in a show and win $1,000,000. Then I will buy 600 horses and win $1,000,000 every show. I will have every color, breed, and size of horse.

What an invention! CLICK-CLACK! RING RING! It’s finished! I made an invention that will end world hunger! The President says it works! I get $100,000,000 and a ticket to a Taylor Swift concert. Yes!

I’d be a princess, and I’d get whatever I want. I can rule the world, and it will be fun!
