Dear Santa Letters

During Writing class, the 4th grade students wrote "Dear Santa" letters. I will deliver these letters to Santa's mailbox at Macy's in the Empire Mall (Sioux Falls), where for every letter that is written, $1 is donated to the Make-a-Wish Foundation. What a great reason to believe (and write!!!)

"The BFG" Reader's Theater

Here are the kids getting ready for and performing their "The BFG" Reader's Theaters. They really did a great job! It was such a fun book to read together!

Thankful for a Friendly Class!

Students had to pass around their classmates' "feathers" and write something nice or positive about each one of their classmates! We are thankful for such a friendly class!

A Very Cute Visitor

We were visited today (Friday, November 13th) by a very cute and cuddly visitor! Mia's mom and brother brought in one of their Chocolate Lab puppies (Mr. Hoogeveen showed up a little later). Her name is Princess, and she was adorable! What a fun treat to have on Friday the 13th!!!

Halloween (Fall Festival) Party

The kids had a great time at our Fall Festival Party. The theme for the costume contest this year was "Song Titles." It was a lot of fun to see the different songs and costumes that the kids came up with. We had a group of students who organized the party and did a great job! We played Halloween Pictionary and Toilet Paper Mummy. Thanks to all the kids (and parents) who contributed! They were Rachael Joachim, Riley Knoblock, Hunter Harkness, Kianna Roemen, Tanner Oleson and Anna McCarty,

Camp Foster

The kids had an AWESOME time at Camp Foster this year! (The teacher had a pretty good time as well!) The entire grade was split into groups of 10 and then were able to go to different "stations" throughout the day - Canoeing, Archery, Riflery, Flying Squirrel, Conquer the Dragon and Horseback Riding. They ended with a FUN campfire (complete w/ campfire songs) and supper!

* Notice that most of the pictures from the "stations" were taken of the kids from our class that were in my group. I tried to get pictures of other students at the "team-building" activities and campfire!
