I wish I had 200,000,000 dollars, a flat-screen TV, and a 2011 Ford pickup truck. The school has been 2 hours late a lot of times, and 2 days were canceled because of snow days. I wish there was no more snow the rest of the year!

The BFG (Readers' Theater)

On Friday, January 21st, 4C students went into 4 primary classrooms to perform their BFG Readers' Theater. They did a GREAT job! The Readers' Theater skits focused on the part of the book where the BFG is explaining "Dream Catching" to Sophie.

Christmas

In December, 4C students had fun making candy canes at home for our "Candy Cane Lane" bulletin board and writing letters to Santa Claus. The letters were brought up to Macy's and dropped off at the Believe Mailbox. Macy's donated $1.00 for every letter brought in up to $1,000,000 - that's a lot of reasons to believe!

Fall Festival Party

The Story "comes to life" in Jumanji!

We decided to have a little fun with Reading and do something different. We created a Wax Museum based off of Chris Van Allsburg's book, Jumanji. In order to do this, students got into small groups (based on 5 different scenes from the story) and then "recreated" their scenes with props, backgrounds, and costumes. Last but not least, they became the characters from the story when they posed as wax statues! We had some younger classes come in to "tour" our museum. Keep in mind that as wax statues, the kids were not allowed to move or talk - they had to stay as "STILL as STATUES!" It was fun!!!

Judy and Peter were playing Jumanji. All of a sudden, Rhinos burst through the wall and stampeded into the house! Splinters flew everywhere! China broke and tables cracked! Judy and Peter were so surprised!

Judy rolled the dice, and the square said, “Lost Guide.” There was a guide holding a map mumbling about where to go. He was lost! Then Peter rolled the dice, and the square said, “Python sneaks into camp.” A python appeared on the fireplace. The guide got scared and ran to the couch.

Judy rolled the dice, and she got a 3! The card said, “Volcano erupting!” All of a sudden, she couldn’t see Peter. The room started shaking and lava poured from the fireplace. The lava got into some water and steam went up into the air. The monkey went behind the couch!

Monkeys are in the kitchen stealing food! Peter and Judy walked in and saw them on the table and going through the refrigerator. The monkeys are throwing pans in the kitchen and making a terrible mess!
